Okay I decided to share this project I did for my daughter's bedroom when she was about 3 years old. Sooooo that was about 1995. I know. Kind of awhile ago. But whatever I still think it's cute. Maybe some of you will too. It was super easy! All you need are picket fence supplies from Home Depot and white paint. Then have two 2x4's cut to fit the width of bed you have. Mine was for a twin bed. Start with two fence posts on either side. Then, you get enough picket fence slats to fit the width in between the two posts. You just measure your boards, and plan your spacing to figure out how many fence slats to buy. Place the 2x4's parallel to each other to form the base for your picket fence. Simply nail the posts and the slats in an evenly spaced manner to both 2x4's in a graduated fashion as you see in the photo. I painted mine white and sanded the edges to give it a distressed look. Still cute I think!
